Is an important local election

Important Notice regarding the race for New Paltz Town Supervisor.

Tim Rogers is the Democratic nominee for the position of Town Supervisor in New Paltz. He won the Democratic primary elections in June (beating the current supervisor significantly) and is the only Democrat running for Supervisor.

Despite losing the primary, Amanda Gotto is falsely claiming that she is running as a Democrat. She is running on a Republican ticket along with another Republican council member who was put on the Town board without an election. There is a real danger that New Paltz will become a Republican controlled town unless we galvanize support around the Democratic Nominee.

It has never been more important to keep New Paltz Democratic so we can protect our town and residents from the Republican Party’s political agenda. Republicans will stop at nothing— lies, deceptions, smear campaigns and divisive issues to divide the New Paltz Democrat vote so that they achieve power.

New Paltz has never been more at risk at becoming a Republican run Town…Speak to your friends and Neighbors to make sure they know Tim Rogers is the only Democrat running in the race for New Paltz Town Supervisor this November.

Elect Democrats.
Protect our freedoms.

In New Paltz we have two groups of elected officials who serve our local community. These two arms of local government are most commonly referred to as "The Village" and "The Town".

The "Village Board" represents the people who live in the village of New Paltz and the Town Board represents the people who live in the bigger area shown on the map below.

Freedom starts here.

The New Paltz Democratic Committee is the organizing body for the Democratic party across both The Village and The Town.

The New Paltz Democratic Committee works together with other towns and city committees within Ulster County to ensure Democratic candidates are supported and democracy is served.

The pressing issues our neighbors say they are concerned about:

  • Reducing administration costs so tax rates are controlled and essential services are maintained

  • Protecting our water supply, rivers and natural environment from contamination, pollution and climate change.

  • Building an economy that works for everyone — decent jobs, fair wages, housing affordability and labor rights .

  • Affordable healthcare for all.

  • Protecting the freedoms and rights of everyone who lives in our community.
