Let our work begin
I want to express my gratitude for your support in electing me as the Ulster County legislator representing the village and town of New Paltz. Now that I have officially taken the oath of office, my work is underway, beginning with my committee assignments. I am honored to have been selected to serve on a range of committees that align with my objectives, which reflect and respond to my constituents’ needs.
These committees include: Health, human services and human rights; economic development, planning, education, employment, arts and agriculture; and laws, rules and government services.
Composed of both returning and newly elected representatives, these committees will play a crucial role in shaping county policy and determining how resources will be allocated. Together, we will work to keep our community healthier, attract living-wage jobs, protect civil rights and bring much-needed affordable housing to our area, among other initiatives.
We are undoubtedly in a time of great unrest. Our rights are under constant attack and leadership is being tested. Electing experienced, skilled and dedicated representatives who will fight for you is more important than ever. This is true at every level of government, as local elected officials address our everyday needs while providing a supportive base for those advocating at the state and federal levels.
I’m excited about the collaborative possibilities we can achieve together with your input. To be an effective voice in the county legislature, I invite you to stay engaged with me. Your ideas and feedback are invaluable as we work towards our shared goals of improving our lives in this place we are so fortunate to call home.
