Lauren McPadden for Town Board (Partial Term)
Lauren McPadden is a Democrat running for the New Paltz Town Board who believes in thoughtful growth, environmental stewardship, and transparent, inclusive local government. A lifetime resident of New Paltz, she currently serves on the Town Planning Board, where she helps guide decisions that balance development with conservation and the character of our community.
As co-owner of Cedar Sky Properties, Lauren is working on advancing projects rooted in ecological sustainability and community benefit. She also serves as Board Secretary for Carve for a Cause, a local non-profit supporting Ulster County families and children with critical unmet needs, and previously chaired High Meadow School Fundraising Committee and served on the school’s board, strengthening local education and engagement.
Lauren is deeply committed to giving careful, informed attention to the potential town-village consolidation discussions—ensuring residents’ voices are central in shaping any future governance changes. She is also concerned about the steady rise in property taxes over the last decade and will advocate for more transparent, fiscally responsible planning to keep New Paltz affordable for working families and seniors.
An educator, small business owner, and active community volunteer, Lauren brings experience, empathy, and collaboration to every decision.
